CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

If you live in Cedar Rapids and still haven't managed to clean up the nearly 6 inches of snow from earlier this week -- it's OK.

Typically the City of Cedar Rapids requires residents to clean up snow from sidewalks within 48 hours of the snow ending. Otherwise, they could face a fine.

However, due to the bitter cold weather the city is extending that deadline. The city asks that people clear sidewalks once the Wind Chill Advisory ends at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 8.
