Snow stops, Waterloo digs out

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

After working all night, the plow drivers may be grabbing some rest, but many in Waterloo are still digging out.

It's the kind of cold that makes you want to run inside. At least, that's what 8-year-old Erick Castillo-Alvarez wanted to do.

"Do you like the snow?" we asked.

"No," he said. "Because it's cold!"

If you've got the right equipment, like a snow blower, it's not so bad to clear your sidewalk. But the old fashioned shovel will still keep you warmer.

Just ask 11-year-old Laterrion, who spent all afternoon shoveling driveways.

"I only charge five dollars and that's it!" he said.

But first, he had to finish his own house.

"I did it last night, but after that it snowed again," he said.

As for spending the very cold cash he earns?

"I'll buy my girlfriend something, then toys," the fifth grader said. "Or junk food."
