WATERLOO (KWWL) - A fire on Dec. 1 wiped out Tri-City Clothing in Waterloo, and efforts continue to get the store rebuilt and reopened.

The Gift of Life Church in Waterloo held "A Benefit of Love" Sunday evening to raise money to rebuild the store.

Friends and family of the store's owners said Tri-City Clothing has been a special business to many for over 30 years.

"I'm so grateful, because I'm glad that we didn't just forget about them," Daphne Williams, a niece of Tri-City Clothing's owner said. "You know, sometimes things just happen in your community, and it's easy to get swept under the rug because other tragic things happen after that."

Tri-City Clothing is looking for a temporary location in downtown Waterloo to reopen.
