Top ranked Iowa wrestlers rally past #7 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (KWWL) -  The #1 Iowa wrestling team won matches at the final 4 weights to rally past #7 Ohio State for an 18-14 win.

The Buckeyes opened the meet winning 4 of the first 6 matches. That included some big bonus points at 141 where top ranked Logan Schrieber picked up a 15-0 technical fall over #6 Josh Dziewa.

Soon after, the Hawkeyes rally began picking up 4 straight decisions to end the meet. It all came down to the heavyweight match. Iowa's Bobby Telford, ranked 3rd, shut-out 10th ranked Nick Tavanello 4-0 to clinch the meet for the Hawks.

Iowa will step out of conference when they travel to Oklahoma State next Sunday.

The Hawkeyes, representing team USA at the World University Games, got a pair of 3-run home runs out of Robert Neustrom to clinch the victory.

    The Missouri Valley Conference exercised an option to keep the men's basketball tournament in Saint Louis through at least 2020. The previous agreement ended in 2018 with a two year to remain at the Scottrade Center. The tournament, known as Arch Madness, will conduct it's 30th straight tournament in Saint Louis in 2020.
