Cyclones roll past Mississippi Valley State, 83-33

Naz Long scored a team high 24 points, as the 9th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones rolled past Mississippi Valley State, 83-33, in a New Year's Eve clash at Hilton Coliseum.

The victory was Iowa State's 500th at Hilton and gave Coach Fred Hoiberg his 100th coaching victory.

Long had seven three-pointers in the easy win. The Cyclones shot 50.8 per cent from the field.

Bryce Dejean-Jones had 6 assists and Jameel McKay came off the bench to add 10-points. McKay also had three blocked shots and six rebounds.

Iowa State improves to 10-1 on the season and travels to Brooklyn, New York, Saturday, to go up against South Carolina at 5 pm. That game is on the CBS Sports Network.
