WATERLOO (KWWL) -

UPDATE:

Police say Devante Hines was with two other people during the December 20 robbery at the Marshalltown Kum & Go.

Police arrested Cedano Thomas and Sadie Baxter after the robbery.  After Hines was arrested in Waterloo, they charged all three people with a different robbery at the Jiffy Convenience Store in Marshalltown on December 16.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A suspect wanted for a robbery in Marshalltown was arrested in Waterloo on Tuesday.

The robbery happened at a Kum & Go convenience store in Marshalltown on December 20th.

Police identified 21-year-old Devante Hines as a suspect, and believed he was staying at a Waterloo home.

Tuesday the Marshalltown Police Department notified police in Waterloo they were looking for Hines.  Police found Hines in the 700 block of Hammond Avenue, and taken into custody after police say he tried to run.

Hines was arrested for 1st degree robbery and going armed with intent.  He now faces an additional charge of interference with official acts since he tried to run away from Waterloo police officers.

An earlier version of the original story spelled Hines' first name differently, which was the spelling provided by Waterloo Police.  The first name was corrected after information from Marshalltown Police and Iowa Courts Online.
