IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A caretaker is accused of abusing one of her patients. The reported incident happened at the Iowa City Rehabilitation Center in April 2014.

44-year-old Ann Hobbs of Belle Plaine was working as a temporary nurse at the rehab center. Her duties included helping patients go to the bathroom, getting them dressed and feeding them.

According to a complaint, a patient caught the attention of another nurse and said she had been assaulted by Hobbs.

The patient's left side of her face had noticeable bruising. Her right arm also had bruising and what appeared to be fingernail scratches.

Hobbs is charged with dependent adult abuse - intentional physical injury. The complaint was e-filed in Johnson County on September 7th, and Hobbs was charged December 30th.
