IOWA CITY (KWWL) - The Iowa City Police Department swore in two new officers during a ceremony Monday.

Douglas Roling and Joshua Grimm are both Iowans. 

Officer Douglas Roling, 41 , is originally from Dubuque, Iowa and has lived in the Iowa City area since 2004. Officer Roling graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2004 and from Columbia Southern University in 2010 with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Prior to employment with the Iowa City Police Department, Officer Roling was employed as a Police Officer with the Coralville Iowa Police Department since 2004. Officer Roling is a certified bomb technician and taser instructor.

Officer Joshua Grimm, 30, is originally from Williamsburg, Iowa and graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2009 with an A.A. degree in Law Enforcement. Officer Grimm also received his B.A degree in Criminal Justice from Grandview College in 2011. Prior to Officer Grimm's employment with the Iowa City Police Department, Officer Grimm was employed as a Police Officer with the Nevada Iowa Police department since 2012 and had graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement academy in 2012. Officer Grimm is a certified radar/lidar instructor and bicycle officer.

Before Officer's Roling and Grimm's permanent assignment, they will participate in the Iowa City Police Department's field training program.
