After talking about playing two quarterbacks during the regular season, the Iowa Hawkeyes are guaranteeing that will happen when they meet Tennessee in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Friday in Jacksonville, Florida.

Hawkeye senior Jake Rudock has started every game but one over the past two seasons with back C.J. Beathard leading Iowa to come from behind win at Pitt when Rudock was injured.  Beathard made his only career start the next week at Purdue leading the Hawks to a victory in their Big Ten opener.  But after a promise of playing both quarterbacks,  Rudock started every other game during Iowa's 7-5 regular season.  The quarterback competition re-opened following the Hawks' season ending loss to Nebraska. Hawkeye offensive coordinator Greg Davis says the competition has been healthy.

"We have had a great competition since we started back with the bowl prep," David said. "It was started even before we knew who we were going to play. They both have done a really good job-- they are both going to play in the bowl game. In terms of who is going to start and all that. Kirk will make that call... and they know the way we are going to do it... and we are pleased with the way both are responding. We expect both of them to play and play well."

The TaxSlayer bowl kicks off on Friday at 2:20 p.m.
