WATERLOO (KWWL) -

MidAmerican Energy says power was restored around 10:34 a.m. Friday for more than 900 Waterloo residents after a temporary outage.

A MidAmerican spokesperson says 946 customers were out of power Friday morning after an insulator on a power line stopped working. The power outage started around 9:53 a.m., and crews were able to switch most customers to another power line by 10:34 a.m. Five customers will get their power back once the initial problem is fixed. MidAmerican says it's not clear what caused the problem with the insulator.
