A South Dakota man faces weapons charges after being pulled over on Christmas Eve.

The Bremer County Sheriff's Office says it received a couple of tips about a driver who may be intoxicated on Wednesday night.  Deputies tried to stop him on Highway 218, but say the suspect kept going before finally pulling over in a gas station parking lot between Waverly and Shell Rock. They say the driver refused to identify himself or get out of the vehicle for about 20 minutes.  Eventually, he was arrested.

Deputies searched his vehicle and say they found two handguns, a .223 caliber rifle and numerous loaded magazines. They say the driver did not have a valid weapons permit.

The driver was identified as Billy Duane Fleshner, age 34 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  He's been charged with: possession of a dangerous weapon, interference with official acts and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Fleshner is in jail on  a $50,000 bond.  The sheriff's office says he is not cooperating with the booking process.
