DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Iowa Department of Natural Resource's Air Quality Bureau awarded Dubuque an $80,000 grant this week to reduce air pollution by retrofitting four city vehicles.

The city will add high-tech filters and mufflers to two dump trucks and two utility vehicles.

According to the Iowa DNR, the new technology on the old vehicles will reduce up to 85 percent of emissions.

They also say the funding will help the city meet federal air quality standards.
