CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Police have arrested a man for assault with a weapon and harassment after a standoff early Tuesday morning.

This happened on the 5000 block of University Avenue in Cedar Falls a little after 1 a.m.

Cedar Falls Police said when officers arrived, a man at the scene told them Donald Lynn Cary, 45, of Cedar Falls had threatened to kill him with a knife. 

Police also said Cary also threatened another person. 

The victims told police he had gone back into the house. 

Police later got inside the home and took him into custody around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Cary has been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and harassment in the first degree, also an aggravated misdemeanor. 

He is currently in the Black Hawk County Jail.
