Low pressure currently over South Dakota is providing widespread precipitation across the middle of the country. In eastern Iowa it is rain and it is tracking northeast.

There is a hole in coverage of the rain across southeast Iowa. Drizzle is expected in this “rain hole” as it tracks northeast.

Temperatures are forecast to remain above freezing through tomorrow so any precipitation that falls will be in the form of rain. Rain totals through Tuesday evening will be less than half an inch.

Colder air does change light rain over to light snow Tuesday night.

The best chance of any snow accumulation will be across northern Iowa Tuesday night into Wednesday. There is the probability of 1 inch of snow from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.

Again, the snow potential in Iowa is for Tuesday night. The best chance of any light snow accumulation will be north of Highway 20.
