UNI Shuts down Iowa 56-44

 The UNI Panthers used a suffocating second half defense to shut down the Iowa Hawkeyes and win their Big 4 Classic matchup 56-44 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  Iowa led 29-23 at halftime, but the Panthers opened the second half with an 18-5 run to claim a 41-34 lead.  Paul Jesperson led UNI with 10 points while Mike Gesell led the Hawks with 10. The Hawks only scored 15 points and only made three baskets in the second half. Iowa falls to 8-4 as the Hawkeyes drop their second straight game. UNI is now 10-1.
