American Airlines temporarily adds flight at Waterloo airport

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) - The City of Waterloo and the Waterloo Regional Airport announced today that American Airlines has added a second Saturday flight to Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

The flight will depart Saturdays at 3:05 p.m. from December 20 through January 3.

The temporary flight, along with the switch from a 44-seat plane to a 50-seat plane, will allow more people to use the Waterloo Regional Airport for holiday travel.

“As we approach the Christmas and the New Year holidays, it's great to have an additional flight to accommodate our holiday season passengers. With continued strong demand for air service from Waterloo, I hope that American will continue to look at Waterloo as an ideal airport location to add frequency to Chicago and their now expanded route network due to the merger between American and USAir. Providing additional connectivity to Chicago and also hundreds of connections to destinations throughout American's extensive domestic and international network of cities is indeed welcome,” Keith Kaspari, Airport Director of the Waterloo Regional Airport, said in a written statement.

This temporary addition means two flights will head to O'Hare from Waterloo every day of the week. No flights from Chicago to Waterloo were added.
