RICHMOND, Va. (KWWL) -

UNI rallied from an late 11 point 2nd half deficit to force 2 overtimes, but came up short falling 93-87 at VCU. The loss was the first of the season for the 23rd ranked Panthers.

UNI appeared to be out of the game when VCU's Justin Tillman scored for a 65-54 lead with just over 6 minutes remaining. The Panthers chipped away from the arc over the final minutes. Matt Bohannon hit a pair of treys while Paul Jesperson added another as UNI finished regulation on a 19-8 run to force overtime.

The Panthers never led in the first overtime, but Bohannon came up big once again.  With UNI trailing 83-80, Bohannon hit another 3-pointer to tie the game with 28 seconds left, eventually forcing the second overtime.

VCU's Treveon Graham was too much in the final period. Graham scored 5 of the Rams final 10 points to send the Panthers home with their first loss.

Wes Washpun led the way for UNI with 27 points on the night. The junior guard also fouled out late in the 2nd overtime. Bohannon added 18, while shooting 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Graham led VCU with 18 points as the Rams extended their home record to 45-4 over the past 4 seasons.
