Neighbors concerned after recent gunfire in Waterloo

Posted: Updated:

Waterloo police were called to Ricker Street near the one hundred block for a report of shots fired Tuesday night.

When they arrived they found bullet holes through a home's window and another home's siding. Police recovered multiple shell casings, but no one has been arrested or taken in for questioning.

"At least 20. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Not pop, pop, pop. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, like a war zone and I'm in the bed and the shots are all around my bed," said one woman who's home was hit by gunfire.

That woman told KWWL she's concerned because she also has a three year old in the home with her.

"Who wants to be in their bed asleep waking up to gunshots coming at your head in your sleep. No I can't do that"

Her home had at least three bullet holes through the siding.

Across the street another home had at least five shots through the window.

"Why guns. Innocent children could have been killed last night. Not hurt, but killed over nothing."

Waterloo police have no suspects in custody. They ask if anyone has any information to contact police.
