IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa senior point guard Samantha Logic has been named to the Naismith Trophy Women's Top 50 Watch List.

Logic, a native of Racine, Wisconsin, was named a preseason All-Big Ten and preseason All- america and was recently named to the John R. Wooden Award Women's Preseason Top 30 list. She is also on the 2014-15 “Wade Watch” list.

Logic leads the Big Ten in assists and recorded her fifth career triple-double in Iowa's win over Dayton in the Hawkeye Challenge title game last month. She's tied for the fifth-most triple-doubles in NCAA history and the most by any player as a member of the Big Ten. Suzie McConnell, who played for Penn State from 1985 to 1988, and Louella Tomlinson, who played for St. Mary's from 2008 to 2011 hold the career record with seven.

The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, who ranked third nationally in assists last season, notched three triple-doubles, becoming the first Big Ten player to record three triple-doubles in a single season. Logic ranked second nationally in triple-doubles; Alyssa Thomas of Maryland had four. Entering the 2013-14 campaign, there had only been 11 seasons in NCAA history in which a player registered three or more triple-doubles.

Logic is the NCAA's active career assists leader with 677 and ranks seventh in assists in Big Ten history.

The #24 ranked Hawkeyes host Iowa State at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday at 7:10 p.m.
