DUBUQUE (KWWL) - Tri-City's goalie Alec Dillon turned aside 42 shots and Chris Wilkie's power play goal in the second period propelled the Storm to a 2-1 win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday night.

The Storm's victory rained on the party for most of the 2,644 in attendance during the Fighting Saints 5
th Annual Santa Claus Visit and Teddy Bear Toss.

The depleted Fighting Saints, which finished the game with only 8 forwards and down a defensive player, fought until the end of the game, but couldn't match the points.

Dubuque's lone goal in the contest came early. Forward Jacob Benson didn't make Fighting Saints fans wait long to toss their teddy bears.

Benson connected for his second goal of the season only 3:15 into the game.

The Storm struck next, tying the game with 16:10 remaining in the opening period courtesy of Matthew Freytag.

The goal came on the power play on a passing play that saw Freytag beat Dubuque goaltender Jacob Nehama.

The only goal of the 2nd period turned out to be the game-winning point from Wilkie.

The leagues best power play got a goal from the team's leading goal scorer on a great individual play.

Wilkie took a pass and cut from the left to the right, firing a shot that beat Nehama to make it 2-1 Storm at 6:21.

Dubuque is on the road to Lincoln next week.

The team returns to the Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque on December 27.
