Iowa City names new Animal Services supervisor

Iowa City has announced its new supervisor for the Animal Care and Adoption Center.

The Iowa City Police Department and the city went through a nationwide hiring process before naming Liz Ford the new supervisor for the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Ford has been involved with the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center since 2002 as a Volunteer, Board Member, Program Director, and Executive Director for Friends of the Animal Center Foundation. She officially began her employment with the City of Iowa City in January of 2011 as an Animal Care Technician at the Animal Care Center and has acted as the interim supervisor since September 20, 2014.

Ford has two dogs. In her free time, she can be found training dogs or riding her horse.

Ford's hiring comes after the the resignation of the previous supervisor, Misha Goodman, in September.
