Dubuque Fighting Saints fall in border battle

The Dubuque Fighting Saints fell 6-5 in a shootout loss to border rival Madison Capitols.

The Saints lost a lead with just a minute left in the third period. Tyler Nanne scored from the left wing to tie the game 5-5 with 1:05 left.

Nanne would also come up big for Madison in the shootout. He would score the only goal of the shootout to give Madison the win.

Dubuque out shot Madison 45-30 in the loss.  

The Saints fall to 13-6-1, and are sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference with 27 points.

Dubuque is in action again tonight at home against Tri-City at 7:05.  

Santa Claus will make an appearance at the game, and it also the teddy bear toss.  

Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear and toss it on the ice after Dubuque scores their first goal.  

The teddy bears will be donated to Toys for Tots.
