DUBUQUE (AP) -

A man who police say was confronted by a group of women when trying to meet a 9-year-old girl for sex has taken a deal with prosecutors.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports Wednesday 23-year-old Lonnie Burns pleaded guilty to a first-degree harassment charge. A child enticement charge was dismissed in the deal.

Police say Burns arrived at an apartment June 30 after communicating on Facebook with a person who he thought was a young girl. Instead, the girl's mother had taken over the girl's correspondence with the man.

The woman and two others met Burns and at least two women physically assaulted him.

Prosecutors are seeking a two-year prison sentence.
