CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A man escaped as his mobile home burned on Wednesday morning.

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says Brett Neal, 39, was sleeping when the fire started but was able to get out. He declined to go to the hospital. A dog died in the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.

A fire destroyed a mobile home in Cedar Rapids Wednesday morning.

Cedar Rapids firefighters were called to 132 Summer Circle NE at around 9:30 a.m.

Firefighters say no people were injured, but one dog died.

The siding on two neighboring homes was damaged.
