UNI wins 7th straight, beats Richmond 55-50

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

 Seth Tuttle led the way with 17 points as UNI knocked off Richmond 55-50. With the victory, the Panthers are off to a 7-0 start for the first time since Norm Stewart's team accomplished the feat in 1963.

Wes Washpun added 16 points and shot a perfect 4-4 from beyond the 3-point line.

UNI shot out of the gate build a 30-15 lead at halftime. Defensively, the Panthers held the Spiders to just 27% shooting from the floor in the first half.

Richmond became more aggressive in the second half, picking up 18 points in the paint. The Spiders went on a 10-3 run in the final minutes to pull within 4  at 48-44 with 1:10 remaining. The Panthers, however, hit 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch to put the game away.
