IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa City Police are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver.

It happened at the corner of Baker St. and Bradford Dr. in Iowa City. The driver reported picking up two men in downtown, and drove them to the intersection. There, he told authoritiies that they brandished a gun and demanded money.

A fight broke out, and the suspects fled with an unknown amount of money. It's unclear where they went. The driver was not hurt.

The first suspect is a shorter black man in his early 20s, with a medium build, medium complexion and black hair, according to police. He was wearing a dark jacket and carried a handgun. The second suspect is a taller black man of the same age, described as thin with a similar complexion. He was wearing a grey hoodie, police believe.
