Dubuque Fighting Saints lose to Team USA, 4-2

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - The Dubuque Fighting Saints had a hard time keeping up with Team USA on Saturday as they lost 4-2.

Saints goaltender Jake Oettinger had 32 saves throughout the night, but it wasn't enough to hold off Team USA.

Team USA got their first USHL win of the season in front of 2,737 hockey fans at the Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque.

After starting with nine losses, Team USA had a good reason to play hard Saturday.

They jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first 40 minutes.

Graham McPhee started scoring for Team USA, converting on a power-play 15:22 into the game.

The U-17's didn't let up for much of the game after that and kept the Saints at only half their four total goals.

Joey Anderson scored the two goals for the Fighting Saints, but it didn't chalk up enough for the win.
