WATERLOO (KWWL) - The Panthers are home for the holidays and that is a good thing--They start the FCS Playoffs and how excited is the team to get back into the FCS Playoffs.

Mark Farley: We are definitely excited--the players are excited the fans are excited and we get to play the first one at home.
Rick Coleman: Stephen F. Austin coming to town and you have played them in the past but this team is different from the one you've seen before
Mark Farley: They've got a new head coach and he has done a great job and they have a great quarterback and a great offense and it will be a great game
Rick: And they have a great runningback Gus Johnson the Southland Player of the year who rushed for 1600 yards and averaged nearly 7 yards a carry. How do you slow down an offense like that?

Mark: That's the challenge-- he runs for 7 yards a carry and that's because of the efficiency of the offense the quarterback is running for 5 yards a carry --they're a balanced offensive attack and they have some quality players.

Rick: You talk about the quarterback the coaches' son --the Southland conference newcomer of the year and he has been very efficient running and passing the football
Mark: Even when he is scrambling he looking down the field to run the football.. he's 6-5 230 with great speed he is a hand full.

Rick: All along you said this was about your program and in the last month and a half this team has buckled and done exactly what you diagrammed to happened.

Mark: We are thankful on this Thanksgiving that we are in the playoffs-- I think our players have done a tremendous

job with their back against the wall of going out and playing sound football and we fought to a position of being able to play on Saturday.

Rick: And you fought against the best-- if you look at it 5 teams from the MVFC are in the playoffs--that's more than 20 percent so you have played against the best week after week after week.

Mark: We have and we got those two big wins over Illinois State and North Dakota State when they were ranked number one and number 5.. so we are playing as good as anyone in the country we just need to go out and perform this Saturday its a new season now

Rick: What are the keys to victory?

Mark: The keys number one we can't let him scramble--he's very good once he starts scrambling around--and two we have to score points because they do put points on the board.

Rick UNI vs Stephen F. Austin First Round of the FCS Playoffs at the UNI-Dome this Saturday-- Good Luck Coach

Mark-- Thank You.
