DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

It took 13 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks to earn their first win in Dubuque.

They managed to do that Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over the Fighting Saints.

Both teams scored in the first three minutes of the game, but it was a power play goal late in the second that broke the tie.  That goal, scored by Trevor Hamilton, proved to be the game winner.

Lumberjack goalie Eric Schierhorn was spectacular in the game, turning away 36 shots.  Dubuque out shot the Lumberjacks 37-15.

The loss is also the first of the year for Dubuque goalie Jacob Nehama.  He had won his first 11 appearances prior to Wednesday's game.

Dubuque travels to Madison Friday night, and returns to the Mystique Community Ice Center Saturday to host Team USA at 6:05 p.m.
