Iowa State senior Victoria Hurtt became the ninth player in ISU history to achieve 1,000 career kills as the Cyclones swept Texas Tech 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-22) Wednesday night at Hilton Coliseum. ISU improves to 17-9 overall, 9-6 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech is now 14-14 overall, 2-14 in conference competition.

Hurtt led ISU with 14 kills at a .343 hitting percentage while Morgan Kuhrt contributed 10 kills. Caitlin Nolan led the back row with 21 digs.

Earlier the Cyclones won the replayed fifth set of its Oct. 18 match against Texas Tech Wednesday afternoon at Hilton Coliseum. The set, which was a replay of the protested fifth set from the match in Lubbock last month, saw ISU move to 16-9 overall, 8-6 in the Big 12.
