IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Upgrades are coming to the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center in Iowa City, but that means some areas will be temporarily closed.

A wall will be installed around the fitness area on Friday, Dec. 6. That project should take between 4 and 6 weeks to finish, so areas of the room may occasionally be closed to give workers space to work.

Ceiling lights will be replaced in the pool area on Monday, Dec. 8, so during that time the pool will be closed for a few days. During the same time, the men's showers will be closed for roughly a week to install new shower heads, but the locker room will stay open.

On Monday, Dec. 15, the gym might be closed to refinish floors that were originally under the older, wooden bleachers.

In late December or early January, crews will be installing new security cameras, but at this point the camera installation isn't expected to create any closures.
