IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The decision by the grand jury on the Mike Brown case in Ferguson is impacting some in eastern Iowa, more than 200 miles away.

More than 150 protesters gathered at the Pentacrest in Iowa City so their voices could be heard.

They held signs demanding justice, chanting "All Lives Matter."

The protesters then took the streets marching to city hall, hoping their demonstrations bring change, here in Iowa.

"I find it highly problematic that we can somehow pat ourselves on the back to elect a black president, but we ignore issues that are happening outside of the white realm of government." said protester KT Hawbaker-Krone.

Protesters ended by blocking the intersection of Iowa Avenue and Clinton Street, forcing traffic to be backed up.

Marchers tell us while our country has came a long way, they say more can still be done.
