IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Police in Iowa City are warning residents to watch out for a potentially dangerous dog on the loose.

Figo, a six-year-old male Belgian Malinois, escaped from his owner's home around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

He was last seen in the 900 block of S. 7th Avenue.

Figo was wearing a solid black flat collar without tag, as well as a basket muzzle. There was a leash attached to the collar when he escaped.

The animal is known to not be friendly and will bite without being provoked.

If you see him, do not approach, and call police at 319-356-6800 or Animal Control at 319-356-5295.
