Dubuque Rotary Club gives $14K to charities

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Rotary Club has given $14,000 to Dubuque area charities.

It includes:

- $1,000 to Wisconsin Badger Camp to send seven special needs children to summer camp,
- $2,000 to Mary's Inn for items to start-up home for pregnant girls under 18,
- $3,000 to Opening Doors for building supplies for closets and dressers,
- $2,000 to the YMCA Domestic Shelter for food, medical needs and transportation for victims,
- $3,000 to St. Luke's United Methodist for fresh fruits and vegetables,
- $1,900 to NAMI for a smart TV for educating on mental illness, and
- $2,100 to the Stonehill Benevolent Fund for 4 iPads for residents to communicate.

In a news release, Dubuque Rotary Club President Eric Hilburn says, “The Rotary Club of Dubuque has been giving money and time to local causes for almost 100 years.”

Area Residential Care was the designated beneficiary of proceeds from this year's Rotary golf outing and was presented with a check for $5,151.00.
