WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Homeland Security says President Obama is focusing on enforcement efforts of immigrants who are serious criminals. This includes adult gang members.

The department says his plan also focuses on those who crossed the U.S. illegally or were ordered from the country in the last year.

The department says his plan delineates a lower enforcement priority on immigrants with three or more misdemeanor convictions.

The lowest enforcement priority, the department says, will be on immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally since Jan. 1 of this year, and were ordered to leave since then.
