IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa City has narrowed down finalists for the public art project and the city wants you to meet the artists.

Friday, a panel of local artists, community leaders, and arts administrators will be at an open house for artist Hans Breder, one of the three finalists for a public art project in downtown Iowa City.

Breder and the other two finalists were selected by a review panel based on their qualifications and previous works.

The signature art piece will eventually be installed in the Black Hawk Mini Park on the Pedestrian Mall as part of the city's new downtown streetscape plan.

The first open house, for candidate Vito Acconci of Acconci Studio in Brooklyn, New York, was held earlier this month.

Plans are still being made for a visit by the third artist.
