Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Benefit Thursday in Vinton

Posted: Updated:
Help is coming to the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight this week from the Vinton Lions Club.

Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Coordinator, George Rickey, reminds everyone this Thursday, November 20, is the annual Vinton Lions Club chili supper.

This year, proceeds from the annual Vinton Lions Club chili supper will benefit the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, which honors Iowa Veterans by sending them on a free trip to the War Memorials and Arlington National Cemetery. To date, the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight has hosted 18 flights.

The three-hour chili supper in Vinton will be held just ahead of the annual Vinton Christmas Parade in downtown Vinton.

The Vinton Lions Club chili supper begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 7:30. The chili supper will be held at the Vinton Fire station on East 2nd Street, and is a Free Will donations event.

George Rickey points out that the Vinton Lions Club is a long time supporter of the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight.
