LITTLEPORT (KWWL) -

An Edgewood man was injured during a hunting accident in Clayton County Friday.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 20-year-old Kyle Fry was hunting raccoons near Littleport when his .22 caliber rifle discharged and a bullet hit him in the thigh.

The DNR says Fry was taken to a hospital in Elkader and then later transferred to a hospital in Dubuque.

He is expected to survive his injuries.
