UPDATE: Police release name of man killed in crash

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. (KWWL) -

East Dubuque Police have released the name of the man killed in a head-on collision this morning on the Julien Dubuque Bridge.

Gavin Gremmel, 18, died when the car he was in crashed head-on into a semi-tractor trailer. Gremmel is a graduate of Dubuque Hempstead High School.

Police say Cody Berry, 19, was driving the car. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, they said.

Neil Erb was driving the semi, and he was taken to Unity Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Police are still investigating the crash.

The Julien Dubuque Bridge connecting Dubuque with East Dubuque, Ill., has reopened as of 11 a.m. Monday after a fatal crash shut it down for several hours, according to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office.
