Finn Carroll is in second grade at Orange Elementary and one of his favorite things to do is read.
He said, "I'm halfway through the second Harry Potter book, I've read so much of it already."
He came up with the idea that he wanted to use his birthday party as a way to give back. Books made him feel so good, that he wanted other children to feel the same way. He asked his friends and family to bring a book to give to sick children at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.
His mom, Ari, said, " When we learned that the Pediatric Unit could use some books, he was just all about that because he loves to read. We made arrangements to come up and make the delivery and he felt really positive about it."
Finn said, " I wanted them to read it so they would feel better and not be sick."
Covenant Medical Center is very happy to see a 7 year old interested in helping others.
Nurse, Emily Bannoy said, " It's not something we see very frequently in his age group, so we are very blessed and fortunate that he thought of us to be a part of his birthday and for the patients up here."
His next goal? Finn is having a bike drive to donate gently used bikes to needy children in Nicaragua. If anyone has any available storage space in Cedar Falls or Waterloo area or would like to help donate a bike, please contact email@example.com
