CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Iowa City Regina followed a familiar script, never letting off the gas, as they rolled past #2 South Winn 56-18 to make a return to the class 1A state title game.

The Regals cruised out to a 21-0 first quarter lead started by an 89 yard return on the opening kickoff. Quarterback Drew Cook accounted for the next 2, first scoring on an 11 yard run, and hitting Nathan Stenger on a 38 yard touchdown pass.

Mitchell Herold tried to keep the Warriors in the game returning a Regina fumble 55 yards for a score to pull South Winn back within 15, but Regina took over from there. The dagger came before halftime when Phillips fumbled on a punt return, the ball, however, caromed right to the Regals Peyton Raso, who took it the next 44 yards in to the endzone for a 35-6 lead.

Regina is set to meet West Lyon in the 1A championship game on Friday.
