Top ranked C.R. Washington drops Bettendorf for trip to 4A final

 Johnny Dobbs found the endzone on a pair of occasions as Cedar Rapids Washington erased an early deficit to knock off Bettendorf 28-17.

The Warriors found themselves in an early rut however, as just moments in to the game, quarterback Reid Snitker threw a pick 6 to the Bulldogs' Dalton McLaughlin. Following a Washington 3 and out, the Bulldogs added a short field goal to lead 10-0.

That's when the Warriors woke up. Snitker fired a 34 yard strike to Isaiah Nemmers in the 2nd quarter to cut the deficit to 3. Minutes later, following a 41 yard Snitker pass to Landon Akers inside the 5, Dobbs would score from the 1 for a 14-10 lead. Soon after, a Bettendorf fumble would lead to Dobbs 2nd touchdown of the game as Washington led 21-10 at the half.

The Warriors put it away in the second on another long touchdown pass from Snitker. He hit Akers on a 45 yard scoring strike to push Cedar Rapids Washington in to the class 4A state final.
