It was semi-finals day in Cedar Rapids for the state volleyball tournament with a lot of local teams looking to advance.

Class 4A Clear Creek Amana takes on top ranked Harlan.

In the first set, Natalie Brimeyer with the big spike keeping the Clippers alive, but Harlan would get the sweep 3 sets to none. 

Also in 4A Marion meets West Delaware. The Hawks took the first set on a Marley Boies kill.

In the second set, Addison Brooks delivers on set point to give the Hawks a 2 set lead. Marion battled back in the third set, Isabelle Sade with one of her 18 kills, The Indians took the the third and fourth sets. But in the fifth set the Hawks prevail and advance to take on Harlan in the 4A state final on Friday. 

"We talked about all of it being on us, we knew that we could do it."  West Delaware senior outside hitter said. "We just had to relax, stay calm stay composed. "

In Class 3A top ranked Mount Vernon taking on Red Oak.  The heavily favored Mustangs lost game one 25-23, but Mount Vernon would rebound to win the next three straight to advance to the finals.


 The other 3A semifinal matched Solon and Nevada.  Solon's Jordan Smith she was on fire  with 18 kills. Smith would help lead the Spartans to a straight set win and a berth in the 3A final against arch rival Mount Vernon.
