CHICKASAW COUNTY (KWWL) -

A New Hampton man was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated after a crash on Highway 18 in Chickasaw County.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of Highway 18 and County Road V-18, about five miles west of New Hampton, at around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies say 58-year-old Dawn Schweizer of Charles City was headed east on Highway 18 when a van headed south on V-18 and driven by 42-year-old Chris Krieg of New Hampton ran the stop sign and crashed into her vehicle.

Krieg was arrested and is charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated and failing to stop at a stop sign.

No injuries were reported.
