CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Mount Mercy University is holding a workshop on diversity and the criminal justice system.

The event is called "Roll of the Dice, Diversity and the Community: A Special Look at Criminal Justice."

The Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission will use dice to determine backgrounds for attendees. The attendees will then have discussions based on these assigned backgrounds.

This follows a panel discussion in October where Cedar Rapids Police Chief Wayne Jerman, Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner, and Linn County Attorney Jerry Vander Sanden discussed use of force in local law enforcement.

The workshop will be held on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. in Betty Cherry Heritage Hall.

You must RSVP to attend by emailing dbrydon@mtmercy.edu or calling 319-363-1323 ext. 1535.
