Eastern Iowa Airport reports credit card breach

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

If you've flown out of the Eastern Iowa Airport recently and parked your car with a credit card, that information may be compromised.

The Eastern Iowa Airport says travelers who used a credit or debit card at Airport Parking Facilities between Sept. 29 and Oct. 29 may be victims of a security breach.

According to a news release, the breach was isolated to the parking lot, so it only affects those who used their credit cards to park and no other airport transactions.

Airport employees say customers who did use the parking system during that time should carefully monitor their credit or debit card accounts.

If you  notice any fraud, contact your bank and the Airport Safety Department at 319-731-5722.

The airport is working with the parking operator, Republic Parking, and the manufacturer of the system, DataPark, during this investigation.

According to the airport, the security issues have been contained, so it is now safe for people to use credit or debit cards to pay for parking at the airport.
