Falling fuel prices: Analyst predicts whether trend will continue

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The temperature isn't the only thing falling recently.  Gas prices are also down.

GasBuddy.com says the average price in Iowa has dropped more than $0.05 in the past week, down to $3.00/gallon. The national average is down to $2.94.

“Another week, another big decline in the national average,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy. “But we're nearing the point where the decreases are likely to slow unless oil prices continue to tumble from their current levels. The national average now stands at its lowest since December 4, 2010," said DeHaan.

According to GasBuddy.com, the lowest prices in Iowa are in Davenport where you can fill up for $2.59.
