GILBERTVILLE (KWWL) - An 8-player battle as top-ranked Don Bosco hosted Newell-Fonda on Friday.

The Dons were taking advantage of Newell-Fonda fumbling the opening kick-off as Don Bosco quarterback Mason Svoboda slashed through a big hole five yards for the first touchdown of the game.

But on the two-point attempt, Svoboda is not only stopped, but their star player suffers a leg injury and would be later transported to the hospital.

Newell-Fonda took advantage of a couple of Don Bosco turnovers. Brady Dicks fired a 30-yard touchdown pass to Connor Wolterman to give the Mustangs a 14-6 lead late in the second quarter.

But the Dons' Nick Mangrich takes the snap out of the shot gun and sprints 15 yards for a touchdown.

Don Bosco led 36-17 in the second half, but Newell-Fonda rallies to pull off a huge 37-36 upset win.
