City offers free bus rides for Veterans

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Staring Tuesday, veterans and their families can ride city buses for free on a fixed route.

Iowa City Transit Division will offer the free rides to honor veterans for their service.

All veterans have to do is show the bus driver a form of I.D. with their veteran status -- a military ID, VA medical ID card, veteran designation on a driver's license, or certificate of release or discharge from active duty.

The free rides will are offered during the normal hours of operation for City buses, from 5:45 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Bus schedules are listed on the city's website at www.icgov.org/transit.
