Iowa Hawkeyes travel to Minnesota this Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS (KWWL) - The Iowa Hawkeyes are preparing to go back on the road this weekend for a key Big Ten showdown at Minnesota.

Both the Gophers and Hawkeyes are bowl eligible, and enter Saturday's game with identical 6-and-2 records -- including 3-and-1 in Big Ten play.

The Hawkeyes are coming off their most impressive win of the season, a 48-7 victory over Northwestern.

Now the Hawks visit the Gophers with the Floyd of Rosedale and a lot more on the line.

"They're a good football team," Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said. "They look like they have in the last couple of years. The biggest differences (are) they're more veteran, a lot more experienced, older, physical guys, and they run the ball with great success. And their running back has done a tremendous job.

"Their quarterback is a really good runner and can hurt you with his arm, as well," Ferentz added. "It's a little bit of a different challenge."

Game time is 11:01 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, from Minneapolis.
